In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Person 2:
Enlightened by the Word that has become flesh, we seek the truth that sets us free. The truth includes our sins, shortcomings and mistakes. We confess: sometimes we put people into boxes that are too small for them.
Person 1:
May we always be gracious, as you have been gracious to us.
Person 2:
We confess: sometimes we think too highly or too lowly of ourselves, blocking the light that has come into this world to shine through us.
Person 1:
May we always be gracious to ourselves, as you have been gracious to us.
Person 2:
We confess: we often put GOD in a box. We forget that nothing that we know could possibly contain our creator. You are bigger than religion, bigger than our faith, and bigger than our doubts.
Person 1:
And yet you were born in a stable, born into this messy world, born to save us and set us free.
Person 2: Let us worship Christ who gives people new life, a new chance and a new name. As Stephen Ministers we are ambassadors of Christ and proclaim the gospel and grace he brought to us.
Person 1:
If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation. The old has vanished. See, everything has become new. Amen.
