Call To Worship

In the healing presence of God, we gather this morning.

We come as we are, with our inner wounds and physical injuries,

With our worries and fears about a loved one’s health,

With our body’s mortality and the reality of aging,

We come as we are, vessels made out of clay,

Filled with God’s eternal glory by his grace.

In the healing presence of God, we gather this morning.

In the healing presence of Christ, we gather this morning.

Like the blind man we ask Jesus to open our eyes.

Like the desperate woman we want to touch his cloak,

Like the little child we want to get blessed by him,

Like the leper we want him to free us from stigmatism.

We come as we are, to receive and to give,

To be blessed and to extend blessings to others.

In the healing presence of Christ, we gather this morning.

On the wings of the Spirit, our spirit soars above our ailments,

Even as we know that our time on earth is finite;

Even as death and suffering touch our lives;

Even as we ache and mourn and grieve;

God is here to ease our burdens.

On the wings of the Spirit, our spirit soars above our ailments.
