Call to Worship

L: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.

L: People of God, let us remember those who have walked the path of faith before us.
C: For the builders and pioneers of this church and for all those who had a vision of
church that reached beyond their own needs, we give you thanks, O Lord.

L: People of (name of church), let us remember those who nurtured our faith:

Moment of silent remembrance

L: Lord God,
C: For those who taught us how to pray and helped us appreciate the Word of God,
for those who practiced their faith by serving others with unselfish passion, we
give you thanks.

L: We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. (Hebrews 12:1)
C: Therefore, let us lay aside every burden that weighs on us and every sinful inclination that distracts us; let us persevere and walk our journey of faith with boldness.

L: Let us look up to Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
C: We can do everything in Him who gives us strength. Amen
