Lent I

Call to Worship

L Come, let us worship Christ our Savior who, like a seed fallen to the ground, suffered death.
C We praise you, Lord.

L Come, let us worship Christ our brother, who ventured into the abyss of life; who finds and heals us when we most need it.
C We praise you, Jesus, image of the compassionate Father.

L Come, let us worship him  who took upon himself our sins; accepting death he lifted us out of the pit.
C We praise you, Lord of the cross.

L Come, let us pray to him  who conquered evil and hatred,
who lives forever at the Father’s side.
C Closer to you, O Lord, throughout these 40 days of Lent!

L Lord, you share life with us in our glory days, and you visit us in our darker hours; fill our hearts to overflowing by revealing to us the light of your countenance.
C United with him, our lives will bear much fruit. Amen.
