The Quote:

“This world is full of conflicts and full of things that cannot be reconciled. But there are moments when we can… reconcile and embrace the whole mess, and that’s what I mean by ‘Hallelujah.’”

– Leonard Cohen

Wisdom from Scripture:

Psalm 34: 1-7

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Revelation 19: 4-7

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried: “Amen, Hallelujah!” Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!” Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!”
Prayer:  Lord God, through life’s up’s and downs, through times of hope and times of fear, through the inconsistencies of people (including ourselves), through the flaws of human beings, through hypocrisies and failures, pain and sorrow, sickness, imperfection, teach us to praise you and embrace the miracle of being alive. Halleluiah! Bless every person that we encounter today. Amen.
